To commemorate the Virage’s passing, the final nine chassis off the production line (numbers ‘50411’ to ‘50419’) were completed to special ‘Limited Edition’ specification. First shown at the British International Motor Show in October 1994, the Virage Limited Edition was finished in dark British Racing Green metallic, the interior colour scheme featuring saddle-brown Connolly hide upholstery and beige/green leather headlining and door trim. A brass plate recording the chassis number and owner’s name was fixed to the dashboard, which was of burr elm rather than the usual walnut. A driver’s side-protection airbag and improved full climate control system were additional features. Externally, the Virage Limited Edition was subtly re-styled in ‘wide body’ Vantage fashion and looked much like the successor V8 model, its mesh grille with ‘V’ motif excepted. Mechanically the Limited Edition was virtually standard Virage. Number seven out of nine, this Virage Limited Edition, chassis number ‘50417’, was manufactured in December 1994 and has been owned from new by Heavyweight Boxing World Champion Lennox Lewis. At the time of its acquisition, Mr Lewis was WBC Heavyweight World Champion, a title he subsequently lost and regained before going on to become the undisputed World Champion by defeating Evander Holyfield to take the WBA crown. He retired from boxing while still World Champion in February 2004. ‘50017’ is finished in deep Jewel Green metallic with ‘special’ tan hide interior and is equipped with the four-speed automatic transmission. A satellite navigation system, custom-built stereo and a stainless-steel exhaust are other noteworthy features. Maintained exclusively by Aston Martin Works Service, the car has covered circa 32,000 miles from new and is presented in very good condition throughout. The vehicle is offered with MoT to January 2006 and Swansea V5 registration document.
