Authored and published anonymously, the copyright notice records William Duane registering the title "the right whereof he claims as author" in the Pennsylvania office. An exhaustive manual of military training, likely adapted from Duane's earlier "American Military Library" series. (Sabin 20994, note). Lot Amendments Condition: Moderate rubbing to covers; head of spine lightly chipped, though binding quite sound; innofensive old dampstain to first several pages; foxing throughout, including plates; bottom of first plate with loss possibly affecting a bit of the image; contemporary inscription to front free endpaper, good to very good.
