The Works of Robert Burns Author: Burns, Robert Place: London Publisher: T. Cadell and W. Davies Date: 1803 Description: 4 volumes.(8vo) 21.5x13.5 cm (8½x5¼") early full tree calf, professionally rebacked, with modern morocco spines tooled and titled in gilt. Fourth Edition. Included is Currie's substantial life of Burns, which was reprinted throughout the 19th century; extensive selections of Burns' correspondence; tributes to Burns; and poems and songs, most notably "Auld Lang Syne", a song the Scots proudly claim to be one of the most famous and popular of the past 200 years. Lot Amendments Condition: Tree calf worn, corners bumped; endpapers replaced, library markings including bookplate on pastedowns and stamps on front free endpapers, verso of titles, and occasionally on the first page of text, very good. Lots sold without reserve are sold “as Is” and are not returnable under any circumstances.
