The Yamaha Motorcycle Company is one of the largest in the world and provides a wide range of road bikes but also is an extensive player in the world of motorsport. The trials discipline requires high revving, reliable machines that are durable, light weight and well-engineered. Widely regarded as one of the trials bike pioneers, the TY250R or 'Pinky' as it was affectionately known, came with a 250cc, two-stroke, single cylinder engine, it suited the brief perfectly and was rewarded with many podium places in its lifetime. With just two previous owners, this example is road registered and comes with a V5C and a number of spare parts including plastics sections, transfers, handlebars, a speedometer head and a quantity of Castrol 747 Premix 80:1. It is worth noting that it also has a set of light fittings so it could be pass an MoT test and register for road use if desired. When the current owner retired from riding, it was stored in a heated garage and hasn't been used for around five years. At time of storage, the bike was running well but doubtless the new owner will want to perform some basic checks and clean out the fuel pipes etc. before use. The TY250 range seems likely to become a future classic with prices on the rise.
