Title: Thirty Years of Bird & Bull. A Bibliography, 1958-1988 Author: Heaney, Howell J Place: Newtown, PA Publisher: Bird & Bull Press Date: 1988 Description: Foreword & commentary by Henry Morris. Illustrated with tipped-in samples & facsimiles. (4to) 28x20 cm (11x8"), quarter grey morocco and decorative boards; bound by Barbara Blumenthal. Together with a linen-covered portfolio of ephemera; both housed in a 33x26 cm (13x10") linen covered drop-back box with morocco spine label. No. 289 of 300 copies. 2 copies of prospectus laid in. A superb history of the press, the most innovative piece of which is the folding type specimen which is almost 7 feet long when unfurled, surely the longest single type specimen ever printed. Bibliographies of private presses tend to be their most popular books especially when (as in so many from Daniel and Ashendene on) they include specimens of the various books. Lot Amendments Condition: Slight darkening to spine; near fine. Item number: 273055
