Strassburg: Johann Pruess, c.1488-1493]. 8vo (136 x 94 mm). 112 ll. 24 lines. Gothic type. 3- and 5-line capitals supplied in red with guide letters, Paragraph marks and occasional highlighting in red. 19th-century purple morocco, spine in six compartments with raised bands, lettered in gilt in the second compartment, gilt turn-ins, glazed endpapers, g.e. Condition : title and following leaf soiled and with small repairs, repaired tear to X6, Aa3 and final leaf Dd8 with outer blank margin strengthened; some scuffing to extremities. Provenance : ?Sir Thomas Phillipps (sale Sotheby’s London 28 Nov 1977, lot 5159). the phillipps copy . Although there are a number of examples of this work in this form, it was also issued as part II of a composite publication including two other works: I. Gerardus de Zutphania De spiritualibus and III. Bertholdus Horolgium devotionibus. C. 3954; cf. Goff G-176; IGI 4235 (II).
