Appleton & Company, 1866. 16mo, green cloth thin boards, 285pp plus fold-out hand-colored map of eastern United States and Canada. Front pastedown with Walker Spotland 1875. Rear has traveler's notes, including: The suburbs of Cincinnati are beautiful. The Cemetery is lovely (Spring Grove) spring wood fine houses and the beer gardens astonished me much also to see gentlemen dining under the vines. The fair ground there also very good. Base Ball match. Fine engines at Water Works. Million Gallons per minute.... Opposite page has hotels where stayed. PLUS Brookes, R. Brookes's General Gazetteer Improved; or, a New and Compendious Geographical Dictionary:.... Philadelphia: Jacob Johnson, & Co., 1806. 8vo, full leather, front board missing, pages not numbered, fold-out map of world as frontis, small folding maps of Africa, Asia, North America, Europe. AND An Accompaniment to Mitchell's Map of the World, on Mercator's Projection;.... Philadelphia: Hinman and Dutton, 1838. 8vo, half leather, 572pp. Consulting index with references to map that is no longer with the volume. Provenance: The Dave Delling Collection of Western Americana, Condition: First map has been taped in with cellophane, expected wear. Second, first map with holes at folds, boards rough, water stains. Third with moderate toning overall, last section heavily toned, boards rough. Condition issues with all of these.
