THREE DARK CELADON JADE ARC-FORMED PENDANTS, 4TH/5TH CENTURY BC
THREE DARK CELADON JADE ARC-FORMED PENDANTS, 4TH/5TH CENTURY BC the stones with slight areas of white alteration, each arc decorated in relief to both sides with large scrolling grain pattern nodes, one with notches carved into the edging, each with one drill hole to the centre, one with four extra drill holes to support an old break to the arc; a two toned grey arc formed pendant with white alteration to the stone similarly decorated with grain-pattern as above, two drill holes to arc; an olive green jade pendant formed as an animal, the thin section of stone was later recarved, with original incising to one side with meandering double incised lines, small drill hole before creatures ears, early Eastern Zhou (770-221BC); an olive, russet and brown jade applique, with two parallel notched sides, decorated to one surface with an irregular design of S and C-shaped scrolls with pencil line embellishment, four drill holes, two each to opposing sides of the plaque, 6th Century BC; an olive-green jade arc pendant, almost entirely altered to an ivory-white, with notched edges and grain-pattern decoration to each side, single drill hole to the upper centre, late Eastern Zhou (770-221BC); an ivory white jade arc-pendant segment, with similar notched edges and a flat decoration of curls and spirals to both sides of the surface, the jade tinged brown to one edge with drill hole to the original upper centre of the arc, 6th/5th Century BC; a blueish grey altered jade plaque in the form of a crested dragon, its head raised in the air with its long slender body intersected by two small scrolling wings, decorated to the surface in raised curls and spirals, a single drill hole to its belly, 6th/5th Century BC; a light green jade almost entirely altered in the form of a dragon plaque, of long sinuous form, its head curled round upon itself towards a tiny front claw, a comb of hair flying outwards from its body, the surface of the beast incised with dense scrolls, 4th Century BC -- The first, 17 3/8in.
