Baldwyn Date: 1823-24 Description: 2 parts bound in one. vi, [7]-47, [1]; v, [1 ad], 56 pp. With 20 mounted full-page etchings on India paper (with tissue-guards) and 20 smaller wood engravings (7 are mounted on India paper), by George Cruikshank 9½x5¾, bound in gilt-ruled brown morocco, rebacked employing the matching morocco gilt-lettered spine, marbled endpapers, inner gilt dentelles over morocco turn-ins, top edge gilt; bound by Zaehnsdorf. First Edition, large paper copy. First issue: first part on India paper (yellowish tinted); second part with last line on p. 5 concluding with the word "and did" (later changed to "ran out"). Cohn 176. Lot Amendments Condition: Light rubbing, nicks, corners showing a bit; free endpapers and first two blank leaves laid in loose, bookplate of Brian Douglas Stilwell; good or better.
