Flown flag, silk, 4 by 6 inches, inscribed towards the lower edge: "Flown on Gemini 6, Dec 1965, Tom Stafford." Displayed with a Typed Letter Signed by Stafford, and an 8 by 10 inch Gemini 6 flight photolithograph signed by Stafford, matted and framed to 19 by 12 inches. TOM STAFFORD'S signed provenance letter reads in part: "The United States flag displayed below was carried on the Gemini VI mission during December 15 and 16, 1965. Wally Schirra commanded the flight while I served as pilot. The flag became a part of history when we completed the world's first manned space flight rendezvous with Gemini VII on December 15. This flight technique was one of the most important capabilities developed during the Gemini Program. The flag is from my personal collection. It represents the effort of a nation that developed the techniques required to make a lunar landing possible before the decade of the 1960's had ended."
