Original boards preserved in brown buckram clamshell case. Provenance: Franz T. Sangismund (contemporary signature in lower margin of first part-title and first plate) — Robert De Belder (Sotheby's London, 28 April 1987, lot 363) — Ladislaus von Hoffmann (Christie's New York, 4 June 1997, "An Important Botanical Library, The Property of a Gentleman," lot 144).
