Accessories : With Tudor fitted black leather presentation box, international guarantee, product literature, red Tudor hang-tag and outer packaging Catalogue Essay Tudor released the Fastrider Black Shield during Basel 2013 as their first all ceramic watch. Using injection mould technology, they created a mono-block case and tachometer scale with bead blasted finish. The resulting watch is a single unit that requires fewer gaskets and reduces the possibility of moisture and particles entering the watch. The watch is outfitted with PVD coated stainless steel pushers and crown, while the hour markers and hands are red, providing a strong contrast with the black case. Made in partnership with the moto brand Ducati, the Fastrider Collection was first introduced in 2011 with a line of sporty chronographs that sought to capture the daring and carefree spirit of the moto brand. The present example is in new old stock condition, and accompanied by its box and papers. Tudor was named after the British Dynasty that ruled England from 1485 to 1603, and their symbol came from the "War of Roses." After interchanging Rose and Shield symbols for a number of years, the firm replaced the Rose with the Shield logo from the 1960s until today. Some of the most recognized vintage models made by Tudor include the Submariner, a waterproof model first introduced in 1954, the Oysterdate, the earliest versions of which were nicknamed the "Monte-Carlo," the Heritage, which included the date at 6 o'clock, as well as the Pelagos, which translates to "deep sea" in Greek.
