TURBERVILLE, George (?1540 - ?1610). The Booke of Falconrie or Hawking... newly revived, corrected, and augmented. Bound with: The Noble Art of Venerie or Hunting. London: Thomas Purfoot, 1611. 2 works in 1 volume, 4° (177 x 146mm.). First work: large woodcut of the Earl of Warwick and attendants on title (shaved with loss to imprint), 43 woodcut illustrations. Second work: large woodcut on title (shaved with loss to imprint), 48 woodcut illustrations. (Both works include a few repeats, some old light dampstaining.) Contemporary limp vellum (stitching defective, contents loose in covers). Modern cloth box. Provenance : Joyce Sacheverell, née Mansfield (wife of Henry, mother of William Sacheverell, early signature). Second editions. (See following lot.) STC 24325 and 24329; Schwerdt II. pp.271-2.
