Lot Description: Two 19th Century Chinese Feather Fans, Qing Dynasty , the montures of bone, simply carved and pierced, the trimmed feathers painted. The first fan has a central scene of a man and a younger male, wearing robes, the older one revealing his chest. To each side are colourful flowers and to the upper border the feathers are tinged with silver. The verso is painted simply with flowers. Overall height 9.75 inches or 25cm. The second pierced bone fan, trimmed along the top border with marabou, is painted with two colourful peacocks, facing each other amidst flowers in blue and red, surrounded by more such floral decoration. The verso is simpler with one small bird. Overall height 10.75 inches or 27.5cm (2) Condition Report: . Wear to the feathers. Some rubbing to the paint. ARR: Categories: Fans
