Two 8" x 10" Framed Signed & Inscribed Vintage Bobby Jones Photos, One Also Signed By President Dwight Eisenhower In 1930, Bobby Jones confirmed his title as "Emperor Jones" when he made sports history in winning the era's Grand Slam - US and British Opens and Amateur tourneys, to this day the only person to ever accomplish that feat. The first photo shows Jones with all four of his 1930 major trophies and is inscribed "To Ralph Sanborn, With Best Wishes, Robert Jones Jr., October 1930." Dating from 1953, the second photo features Jones and longtime pal and fellow golfer President Dwight Eisenhower, presenting Jones with a portrait that the chief executive (an accomplished artist) had painted in his honor. The photo is signed "Dwight Eisenhower" in heavy black ink and inscribed "To Ralph Sanborn, with best wishes, Bob Jones" in light blue ink. Notes: Jones and Eisenhower became lifelong friends during World War II, where Jones served as a major (check), a friendship that grew with Eisenhower's membership at Augusta National. In the 1950's, the course became Eisenhower's home away from home. Both photographs measure 8" x 10". Overall excellent condition, Jones' writing in the second photo is slightly faded because of age. LOA from PSA/DNA.
