Title: Two astronomical works by Asaph Hall published by the U.S. government Author: Hall, Asaph Place: Washington, D.C. Publisher: Government Printing Office Date: 1885 Description: Includes: The Orbits of Oberon and Titania, the Outer Satellites of Uranus. 33 pp. The Orbit of the Satellite of Neptune. 27 pp. Each 29.5x23.3 cm (11¾x9¼"), original blue printed wrappers. Issued as Appendix I, 1881 and Appendix II, 1881. Each with rubberstamp of the U.S. Naval Observatory to front wrapper, first with ownership signature of Chas. A. Schott, 1885, to front wrapper. The author was professor of mathematics at the U.S. Naval Observatory, and is most famous for having discovered the moons of Mars, Deimos and Phobos, in 1877. Lot Amendments Condition: A little chipping to wrappers, second with light staining to wrappers. Very good. Item number: 287951
