The volumes are: Douglas, Norman. Some Limericks... Wrappers. 1/1000 printed at the Brownbent Press, Boston. 1942. * The Limerick: 1700 Examples, with Notes, Variants and Index. Inscribed to Henry [Miller], with a limerick, from Rupert in 1974. Wrappers with glassine. Paris: 1953. The autograph limericks by Miller are suitable bawdy, the first beginning: "There was a man from Bel Air/ who was screwing his wife on the stairs..." and the second: "There was a young maid of Chin Chin/ whose supreme delight was to commit a sin..." The quatrain is from the other side of the spectrum: "The flower is loveliest when/ drenched in the morning's dew..." From the personal library of Henry Miller Lot Amendments Condition: Wrappers a little darkened with light wear, else all very good or better. Item number: 175105
