TWO GEORGE IV SILVER WINE-COOLERS ONE WINE-COOLER AND LINER WITH MARK OF KIRKBY, WATERHOUSE & COMPANY, SHEFFIELD, 1821, THE OTHER WINE-COOLER WITH MARK OF WATERHOUSE, HODSON AND COMPANY, SHEFFIELD, 1826, THE LINER WITH MARK OF T., J AND N. CRESWICK, SHEFFIELD, 1836 Each on spreading circular foot chased with vine border, the melon fluted bodies with vine rim and bifurcated scroll handles, each engraved with a coat-of-arms and a crest, each with earl's coronet above, each with plain cylindrical liner, marked on bases and liners, the bases filled, one wine-cooler with two patches , each on later wood plinth applied with plaques engraved with presentation inscription and numerous facsimile signatures 9¾ in. (23.5 cm.) high gross weight 149 oz. (4,644 gr.) The arms are those Bingham quatering others impaling Brundenell, for George, 3rd Earl of Lucan (1800-1888) and his wife Anne (d.1877), daughter of Robert, 6th Earl of Cardigan (1760-1837), whom he married in 1829. The inscription on the bases reads ' Presented to Captain A. S. Cunningham-Reid, D.F.C., M.P. by his friends in both Houses of Parliament on his marriage 12 May 1927.' (2)
