The first, an ornamental kettle decorated in bold relief with a continuous scene of a castle complex in a mountainous landscape and boats on a river, signed in seal form Kawada tsukuru, the handle supports formed as castle towers, the bronze cover surmounted with a flower-bud finial and signed on the underside Ryūbundō tsukuru and with a kaō (cursive monogram); the second of compressed ovoid form decorated in high relief with Chinese scholars and attendants among pine trees with highlights of silver and gilt overlays, all against a ground of swirling clouds, the handle supports formed as sinuous dragons, the bronze loop handle formed as a plum branch, signed on the body Ryūbundō tsukuru, the bronze lid surmounted with a pierced flower-bud finial, the underside inscribed with a kaō (cursive monogram) (2)
