Title: Two items featuring Railroad Guns of U.S. Army post WWI Author: Place: [Philadelphia, etc.] Publisher: Date: 1919 Description: Includes: Dinner to Mr. Samuel M. Vauclain, President, The Baldwin Locomotive Works. In recognition of his patriotic services to the United States Government during the Great War. [12] pp. 2 illustrations from photographs. 10x8", color pictorial wrappers. Panoramic silver photograph of large guns on rail cars. with faint caption in the negative, "U.S. Railway Artillery. American Expeditionary forces 1919." (pinholes in corners). 5¼x17"). The first item is a m enu for the dinner honoring the head of Baldwin Locomotive Company at the famous Bellevue-Stratford Hotel in Philadelphia. Includes a photograph of the first Pershing Locomotive (some 1500 were built for the U.S. War Department in World War I), and on the front wrapper is a color rendering of a 14-inch Naval Railway Gun on a Baldwin Base. The main course was roast spring lamb. Lot Amendments Condition: Wrappers a bit soiled, very good. Item number: 206092
