No. 74 from a deluxe edition limited to 600 copies signed by the author. First Edition. American Game-Bird Shooting. [2], vii-xviii, 558 pp. With plates from photographs and other sources. First Edition. Sportsman, conservationist and anthropologist, George Bird Grinnell edited Forest and Stream magazine and co-edited American Big-Game Hunting with Theodore Roosevelt. A Yale-educated native New Yorker, Grinnell went west as a naturalist with Custer prior to the Little Big Horn and became a specialist on buffalo and the Plains tribes. He was a founding member of The Audubon Society. Lot Amendments Condition: Light wear to both volumes; mild dampstaining to American Game-Bird Shooting; front hinge cracked on American Duck Shooting. overall very good. Item number: 300946
