With two-stage barrels retaining some blueing, the forward sections polygonal and each with silver spider fore-sight, turned girdles, octagonal breeches each engraved with a design of foliage at the rear and with gold-lined touch-hole, foliate engraved tangs numbered '8' and '9' respectively, signed border engraved flat locks (cocks replaced, steels refaced) engraved with a differing trophy on the stepped tail and numbered en suite with the tangs on the inside, figured full stocks fluted along the fore-ends (one bruised beneath) and carved with foliage behind the tangs and in front of the trigger-guard finials, butts each with cheek-piece stamped '499' beneath and with chequered grip, ormolu mounts of foliate outline comprising side-plates, escutcheons, trigger-guard straps and faceted ramrod-pipes, wooden spur trigger-guards, sling mounts, ormolu fore-end caps and ramrod-tips, and retaining most of their original gilding (2) 89.2 cm. barrels
