Utagawa Kunisada (1786-1865) Utagawa Yoshikazu (fl. 1850s-70s) Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1797-1861) Shunkosai Hokuei (fl. ca. 1830s) Eleven prints; six bust portraits of actors, from the series Imayo oshi-e kagami (Today's fashion viewed through a mirror), portraits of actors in the roles of Nobunaya Musumebun Osuzu, Yodoya Tatsugoro, Momonoi Wakasanosuke, Yosooi Hime, Tagano Tairyo and Obo Kichiza, each signed Toyokuni ga and published by Fujiokaya Keijiro (Shorindo); a Yokohama print titled Gaikoku kanjin orai no zu (Picture of a foreign official traveling), depicting a Westerner and driver in an open carriage near the Yokohama harbor, another Westerner standing beside them, signed Issen Yoshikazu ga and published by Maruya Jinpachi, dated 1860.11; the poetess Udaisho Michitsuna no haha (Michitsuna's mother), from the series Hyakunin isshu no uchi (One hundred poems by the hundred poets), signed Ichiyusai Kuniyoshi ga and published by Ebine; a diptych, Nakamura Utaemon III in the role of Kasahara Roo and Nakamura Shikan II in the role of Miyamoto Musashi, signed Shunbaisai Hokuei ga and published by Wataya Kihei; Segawa Kikunojo in the role of Komachi Hime, descending a shrine staircase and carrying a branch of cherry blossoms in a wood bucket, signed Toyokuni ga and published by Matsumuraya Yahei--mostly good impressions, some faded, soiled, stained, some creased or rubbed, worming, repairs oban tate-e : 36.3 x 25.5cm., each approximately (11)
