Engraved title, 23 full-page engravings (of which 12 are included in the collation; 11 hors text ) and 26 half-page engravings by JOSÉ CAUDI (5 plates and 3 text leaves with upper or lower margins renewed, Nn2 with patch affecting image and a few letters, FF4 with long repaired tear, some other marginal and paper repairs). Modern vellum. A description of the festival in honor of the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception held in Valencia on 12 May 1662. MELCHOR FUSTER gave a sermon at the decree of POPE ALEXANDER VII. The descriptions include poems in Castilian and Catalan. The work describes the festivities, including the parade of guilds and the floats constructed. Palau 347194. Fiestas seculares, con que la coronada ciudad de Valencia celebro el feliz complimento de tercer siglo de la canonizacion de su esclarecido hijo, y angel protector S. Vincente Ferrer.... Valencia: the le viuda de Joseph de Orga, 1762. 4 o (210 x 155 mm). Engraved frontispiece by VINCENTE GALCERAN after JOSEPH VERGàRA, two engraved folding plates by CARLOS FRANCIA, head-pieces, and woodcut initials (one folding plate repaired and with tear along fold). Contemporary vellum (lacking toggle closures). Serrano's work describes the celebration in Valencia of the 300th anniversary of the canonization of SAINT VINCENT FERRER, missionary and confessor to Pope Benedict XIII, who played a prominent part in ending the Papal schism. The two folding plates depict the elaborately decorated house of Joaquin Valeriola y Proxita Segun and a scene of the festivities. (2)
