Varia Opuscula, quorum indicem sequens pagina demonstrabit, 2 parts in one, Venice: [Aldine press], 1565, 156ff., printer's woodcut device to title of each part, faint signature to title with slight area of abrasion and consequent small hole, occasional early ink annotation marks to fore-edges, final leaf with few small holes & tipped-down to rear free endpaper at fore-edge, occasional light dampstaining, late 18th/early 19th century vellum gilt, small 8vo Adams B2090; Renouard 198, 15. This volume in 2 parts; the first is preceded by a letter from the author to Queen Elizabeth I of England and contains 5 prose works: De Optimo Principe, De Bello et Pace, Pro Philosophia et Eloquentia, Aemilii Accusatio & Aemilii Defensio, and Oratio Pro L. Virginio. The final 4 works each bear a dedication, to Mary, Queen of Scots, Francis Russell, 2nd Duke of Bedford, Lord William Cecil and Lord William Metlan. The second part consists of two books of poems. (1)
