Type: 2:103G, printed guide-letters beginning in part I, quire 28. 3-line initials opening each chapter in red, 7- to 12-line initial spaces opening each book left blank, paragraph marks in red. (Very light dampstaining in some fore-edges of vol. I; very light dampstain on 1/1 and in extreme upper gutter of vol. III, a few leaves slightly smudged with ink, undoubtedly in the printing shop.) Contemporary calf over bevelled wooden boards, blindstamped, from the bindery of the monastery of SS. Ulrich and Afra (worn, with pieces of calf torn, repaired), evidence of two fore-edge clasps, pressmark painted on spines, Kyriss shop 2. SECOND EDITION. Not only was printing carried out at the monastery of SS. Ulrich and Afra, but allied book arts were practiced as well, such as rubrication and binding. These volumes were bound at the monastery and include the identifying stamps with the names of its patron saints. This is a large, fresh copy with the pinholes still visible.
