VIRGINIA - COLONIAL] Bound volume of acts, 1748-63, with much annotation , contemporary reversed calf backed marbled boards, slipcased. 14 x 9 inches (36 x 24 cm); the front pastedown, endpaper and first text leaf annotated with a publication history of the volume by William Green in 1842 (transcript laid-in) and the 1837 signature of John W. Green The first printed work is (caption titled) Acts of assembly, now in force, in Virginia. Occasioned by the repeal of sundry acts ... in the year of our Lord 1748. [Williamsburg: William Hunter, 1753]. 58 pp. Evans 101487(?); and continuing with At a General Assembly, begun and held at the college, in Williamsburg, on Thursday the twenty seventh day of February ... 1752. [Williamsburg: Hunter, 1752]. 47, [1] pp., Evans 6942; Acts of Assembly, passed at a General Assembly ... being the second session of this Assembly. Williamsburg: Hunter, 1754. [2], 46 pp. Bristol B1689; and continuing with acts through 1763. The annotations mainly at the first page of an act or in the margins, faint stamp to first text leaf, the binding worn with losses and with a repair to front hinge, not fully collated and sold as a collection; Together with five related works, including The acts of Assembly, now in force, in the colony of Virginia. Williamsburg: Hunter, 1752. First edition. Evans 6941. Later binding defective, title repaired, without list of subscribers; the 1759 Glasgow edition of Mercer's Abridgement, cloth; a 1764 Acts of the General Assembly, cloth; Acts of the General Assembly, 10 Geo. III. Williamsburg: Rind, 1770. Worn later half leather in a folding case; and the 1771 edition of the Acts, also signed by Green in 1836, cloth. Stamps and stains. The lot six volumes.
