Extensively illustrated with color wrappers, black and white photgraphs and advertising. Uniformly custom-bound for Jack L. Warner and his wife, Ann. Orange half morocco over brown cloth, front covers stamped in gilt “Ann & Jack Warner,” spines stamped and lettered in gilt in 6 compartments, 5 raised bands, some volumes with all edges gilt. Condition: Spines and backstrips uniformly darkened to brown, light wear to extremities, some light rubbing, some handbands chipped. Provenance: Ann and Jack Warner. an interesting record of film, theatre life and the productions in the early twentieth-century theater and film with a wonderful hollywood association. Jack Warner(1892-1978), co-founded the Warner Brothers studio in 1917. One of the most influential studios of the mid 20th century Jack ruled the Burbank studio with an iron hand, but fell out with his brothers in the 50’s. The studio was sold out of the family in 1967.
