Lot of over 90 photographs, prints, and booklets showcasing the beauty of the west, including: Scenic guidebook titled The Overland Trail: From The Golden Gate to The Great Salt Lake Along the Southern Pacific-American Canyon Route via Ogden. Exclusive Edition, copyrighted by Curt Teich & Co., Chicago. Guidebook includes 22 chromolithographs featuring scenes such as "The Old Gold Fields of '49 Between Dutch Flat and Gold Run," "Train Crossing the Sierra, Near Emigrant Gap," "Donner Party Cross, Near Donner Lake, Calif.," and "Temple and Tabernacle, Salt Lake City, Utah." Haynes' Souvenir Album of Yellowstone National Park. Yellowstone Park, WY: Haynes Inc., 1940. Album including 70+ snapshots and RPPCs featuring scenes around Canada including landscapes, horses, farm machinery, and people. Three hand colored silver gelatin prints, 5 x 8.25 in., mounted, 6.5 x 10 in., featuring views around Williams Canon, each credited on verso to Hook, Colorado Springs, CO. Nine assorted mounted photographs and prints, cabinet card size and larger, featuring western subjects including the San Marcos Pass, a group of men and women gathered atop Pike's Peak in a snow storm, the interior of an assembly hall in Salt Lake, and many others. Imprints include Reed, Santa Barbara, CA; Savage, Salt Lake City, UT; Hook, Colorado Springs, CO; Hiestand, Manitou, CO; Nims, Colorado Springs, CO; Taber, San Francisco, CA; and Thors, San Francisco, CA. Two real photo postcards featuring equestrian scenes, one showing a possible stagecoach laden with passengers, and the other showing a possible rodeo show. One silver gelatin press print, 6.5 x 8.5, showing a group of Navajo Indians seated on the Capitol steps in Washington, D. C. Verso includes International News Photo stamp, and accompanying the photo is a typewritten caption identifying the subjects and explaining the scene.
