Wodehouse, P.G. BBC Radio Scripts for "Joy in the Morning" London, 1977. 4to. Seven original typed scripts. English actor Michael Hordern's copy. Including a typed letter signed, by show producer Simon Brett to Hordern, dated June 10th, 1977: "Dear Michael,/I enclose the scripts for 'Joy in the/Morning" and look forward to seeing you on/the afternoon of Tuesday 21st at 2.30 p.m./in Studio B II, Broadcasting House for the first recording/ Yours sincerely,/Simon/(Simon Brett)/Light Entertainment, Radio." "What Ho! Jeeves" was a series of radio dramas based on Wodehouse's Jeeves novels and short stories. Broadcast from 1973-81 on BBC Radio 4, the stories were dramatized for the radio by American screenwriter Chris Miller and Wodehouse scholar Richard Usborne. The series was produced by Simon Brett and featured English actors Michael Hordern as Jeeves and Richard Briers as Bertie Wooster. "Joy in the Morning" was broadcast in seven 30 minute long episodes from January 9, 1978 to February 22, 1978. Other dramatizations included "The Inimitable Jeeves", "Right Ho! Jeeves", "The Code of the Woosters", "Thank You, Jeeves", "The Mating Season", "Jeeves and the Feudal Spirit", and "Stiff Upper Lip, Jeeves." Sir Michael Murray Hordern (1911-1995) was an English stage and film actor, with a career spanning over 60 years. He was primarily known for his Shakespearean roles, such as King Lear.
