A collection of eight Home-Front British propaganda posters. Britain, Ministry of Health and Others: [1939-44]. Including "Every Rivet a Bullet," "Post much earlier this Xmas," "Dig for Victory," "Caring for Evacuees is a National Service," "Make Nursing your War Job," "Mothers let them go," "She is in the Ranks too," and "Help the City Children." WITH: Five military posters including "Britain's Air Offensive RAF Attack on Germany," a map of Germany marking the bombing zones and quantity of bombs dropped by the RAF, and a rare British Pacific Theater poster from the "Smash Japanese Aggression" series, showing Blenheim bombers destroying Japanese supply barges on the Chindwin River, Burma, dated 1942. The posters not linen backed, and with a few marginal tears and crease lines. Various sizes but most 760 x 520 mm. (30 x 20 inches.) A fine collection of Home-Front British posters, issued to educate and advise the population at a time when the government needed the help of the people to achieve their aims, such as looking after evacuees, evacuating children from cities, and growing food in garden plots.
