Beschreibung:

Walt Disney Productions. Three preliminary pencil sketches of Donald Duck marching in uniform, taken from the short cartoon, Vanishing Private. [Los Angeles: c.1942.] Three preliminary pencil sketches from a Donald Duck marching sequence, that ends a short cartoon titled "the Vanishing Private," each with five peg holes and numbered in pencil 3.5 and 6. Slight discoloration to the edges. 250 x 305mm. (10 x 12 inches.) A fine Donald Duck marching sequence, that ends a 7 minute short cartoon called "Vanishing Private," the final scene being Donald standing guard over Sergeant Pete. In December 1941 with the Declaration of War on Japan and Germany, many of Walt Disney's staff joined up, and half of his studios were requisitioned as a base for anti-aircraft troops. Disney threw himself into the war effort by producing cartoon films for government training and propaganda. Donald Duck often figured prominently in these short cartoons, and was famously cast in the popular, "Der Fuehrer's Face."
