Two autograph letters signed, to Dorothy Paget and to Mrs Rhodes (her daughter-in-law), Dublin, 12 and 20 September 1951, 2½ pages, 4to ; with a sketch of John Butler Yeats by H.M. Paget, in pencil, on an album leaf, 95 x 45 mm , and 2 printed items. John Yeats (father of William Butler and Jack Butler Yeats) writes in sympathy on some Paget family tragedy, and on his portraits, one of 'a grand dame in Kildare', Mrs Thomas Conelly, who owns Van Dyck's portrait of Strafford, and of other sitters, mentioning that he has painted five portraits at Lady Gregory's Coole Park in four weeks. Jack Butler Yeats refers mostly to mutual friends, and invites Mrs Rhodes to call. Henry Marriott Paget (1856-1936), painter and illustrator, was a leading member of the Bedford Park circle of writers and artists, and a friend of Shaw and William Butler Yeats. His brothers, Sidney and Walter, were also artists, and his daughter, Dorothy, an actress. (7)
