Yochanan Tversky - Writings. New York, 1920s-30s. Volume containing a printed essay and a story, with corrections, comments and numerous additions handwritten by Tversky (1900-1967) - author and translator, native of Poland. In 1926 Tversky immigrated to the U.S.A. and was appointed as a lecturer in "Tarbut" seminary for teachers. Studied in Harvard and was appointed as professor for Jewish History. Made aliya to Eretz Israel in 1948. Wrote mainly historic novels and biographical stories. The volume includes: notes by Tversky about the Swiss educator and critic Johan Heinrich Pestalozzi (1746-1827) that appeared in the bi-monthly journal "Shviley HaChinuch", New York, 1928; "Herzl - a Story" from "Yearbook of American Jews" for 1939, New York, 1939 (almost with no comments, most of the comments were written about Pestalozzi). More than 100 pages, 23 cm. Original cover with embossed inscription, from the 1930s. Good condition.
