YORKE, H.R. and W. STEVENSON. British Naval Achievements; Being an Accurate Account of the Lives and Actions of British Seamen from 1780 to the Last Expedition against Algiers in 1816. London: [W. Wilson for] C.J. Barrington, 1822. 2 volumes, 8vo. Steel–engraved portrait frontispieces in both volumes (offsetting from plates to title–page). Contemporary diced calf bordered in alternating palmette and floral tools gilt, 5 compartments with 4 raised bands, compartments gilt, all edges marbled, marbled endpapers (joints rubbed with some separation near feet, Volume I extreme ends rubbed with headband protruding, some staining to covers). Provenance: Marcus A. Stanley Hare (armorial bookplate). FIRST EDITION. Includes an “Account of the Third and last Voyage round the world performed by Captain Cook, between the Years 1776 and 1780”. Not in Beddie.
