ZA THREE PIECE SILVER TEA SERVICE, makers' marks of William Forbes, and Ball, Tompkins & Black, New York, circa 1840, comprising teapot, two handled covered sugar bowl and large helmet form hot milk jug, each urn form on square pedestal base, with broad collar, the shoulder two sides engraved with lush undulating foliate scroll band, from which hangs elaborate drapery mantling terminating in tassels and centering shield form cartouche, one engraved with script monogram, engraved with conforming foliate scrolls to base, collar and cover, the teapot and sugar bowl each with partly waisted cover topped by acorn finial, the teapot with hinged cover and scroll handle-- the teapot 10in. (25.4cm.) high, gross weight 70.5oz. (3)
