Beschreibung:

1960 FERRARI 250 GT "SERIES II" CABRIOLET BY PININ FARINA Chassis No: 1881 GT Engine No: 1881 GT Metallic grey with red leather interior and black roof. Engine: V12 single overhead camshaft, 2953cc, 220bhp at 7,000rpm; Gearbox: four speed manual; Brakes: four wheel disc; Suspension independent front with helicoidal springs; rear, semi-elliptic springs. Left hand drive. The new Pininfarina styled 250 GT coupe was first seen at the 1958 Paris Salon having been built in the mould of a semi-luxury grand touring car. This coincided with the new Farina factory at Grugliasco. The coupe had a low waistline, increased window area and large rectangular front grille with the first Series II cabriolet delivered in early 1959. This followed a first Series of 40 cabriolets built on the 250GT platform. The Series II was supremely elegant and provided generous space for both driver and passenger and also a large boot area. Whith the roof of the cabriolet up, opening side vent windows provided extra ventilation when necessary. Mechanically the Series II cars utilised discs brakes all round. Other features were telescopic shock absorbers, all contributing to make the car more pleasant to drive. This superb example of the Series II cabriolet has been fully restored and features unmarked metallic grey paintwork with full red leather interior trim. The car has polished aluminium Borrani wheels and new Michelin MXV tyres. A Voxson radio and eight track cassette player are fitted and the Ferrari has a black convertible roof. The indicated mileage is 55,557 kms and the car has been with its present private ownership in Switzerland since 1987; indeed, it carries Swiss registration documents. This is an opportunity to acquire one of the most elegant of Ferrari grand touring cabriolets, in excellent all-round condition.
