Jaguar's creator Sir William Lyons' instinct for line, proportion and decoration resulted in a luxurious sporting car that was at the same time exquisitely lovely and aerodynamically efficient. It was just about the fastest car money could buy, offered fantastic value for money, and had road-holding, brakes and steering appropriate to a car capable in standard form of startling performance.
