1967 Rolls-Royce 2-Door Mulliner Park Ward Lot Number 143 Registration KLJ 914E Chassis Number CRH1867 Engine Number 1867 Odometer reading 9,225 miles Estimate £18,000 - £22,000 Result Sold - £15,232 Print details Send this to a friend Rolls-Royce Motors formed Mulliner Park Ward by the 1961 merger of two Rolls-Royce subsidiaries: Park Ward of Willesden, London, a Rolls-Royce subsidiary since 1939 and H. J. Mulliner & Co. of Chiswick, a Rolls-Royce subsidiary since 1959. Mulliner Park Ward continues to operate as the vehicle customization division of Bentley Motors Limited, the successor of Rolls-Royce Motors. The Corniche was a development of the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow with the two door variants of that model marketed as the ‘Silver Shadow Mulliner Park Ward’ two-door fixedhead coupé, the very handsome coachwork design was by John Polwhele Blatchley. The model was assembled and finished in London at Mulliner Park Ward as continuation of the 1965 Silver Shadow coupé, the Corniche name was applied from 1971 for all two-door coupés. The car used the standard Rolls-Royce V8, 6750cc engine with an aluminium-silicon alloy block and aluminium cylinder heads with cast iron wet cylinder liners mated to a three-speed automatic transmission from General Motors. Originally registered on 16th February 1967, this Rolls-Royce has been owned by the current vendor for the last eight years. He purchased the car after she had been in storage for some 20 years and immediately set about re-commissioning it. The velvet green coachwork is in excellent order and the cream leather interior has a lovely patina, commensurate with age and mileage. With an engine that purrs effortlessly, this Rolls-Royce is a delight to drive. Taking into account this vehicle is now half a century old, the style, comfort, reliability and presence of this delightfully handsome car is testament to the magnificent cars that were built by Rolls-Royce in collaboration with Mulliner Park Ward. Supplied with a V5C registration document and an MoT test certificate valid until 4th June 2018, this vehicle is ready to use and looks to offer excellent value given the estimate.
