A 20th-Century black enamelled "Harris" microscope slide projection lamp, a Davon telescope and various accessories, the lamp with a Hexa transformer, in a mahogany carrying case -- 38.1cm. (15in.) wide The curved lamp housing has a steel mounting rod and an aperture at one end with slide holders and a magnifying projection lens. An angled mirror attachment can be mounted above the lens. An electric flex at the other end connects to the transformer in a grey enamelled steel box. The carrying case is probably later and has a brass carrying handle and two hooks and eyes. In the case is also a receipt from Philip Harris & Co. dated 14 April 1943. And a copy of The Microscope - A Practical Handbook by Lewis Wright, enlarged and rewritten by Aubrey H. Drew, Religious Tract Society, London, 1922; a mid 20th-Century microscope catalogue for R. & J. Beck Ltd; a black-enamelled prism attachment by Cooke, Troughton & Simms; a small unmarked objective; a Watson angled prism attachment with diaphragm in a plush-lined box; a three-cell brass slider attachment with sliding handle and rotating viewing disc, in a plush-lined leatherette-covered case; two stage micrometer slides, one by Watson & Sons, the other by Zeiss in a printed paper wrapper, in a leatherette-covered Zeiss case, the lid stamped in gilt with KREUZTISCH-ZENTRIERGLAS and the Zeiss logo; Watson x10 and x6 eyepieces; and a leather-bound 1¼in. telescope signed on the rack and pinion focusing wheel F. DAVIDSON & Co. LONDON. W. , with a dismantling cast-iron and steel tripod table stand and three eyepieces. The inside of the lid of the plush-lined leather case has a label for THE "DAVON" PATENT and the outside has a label for J.W.H.S. (6)
