A CHARLES II TWIN HANDLED SILVER PORRINGER the plain form bowl with slightly everted rim and engraved with initials 'H / W*M / 1662' the reverse engraved with a crest, with twin cast figural handles, 16cm wide across handles, makers mark M with pellets and fleur de lys below, London 1660, 183gms Provenance: Sold at Lyon & Turnbull, Fine Jewellery & Silver, 1st June 2011: Lot 497.
The handles are worn and there are scratches to the body. One handle has a hole (defect from the casting). There is a small ding next to a handle which is also probably from the making process. Marks are quite clear given the age. No major dings. The engraving is still strong and defined.
