A Continental five-drawer parquetry chest Print 18th century, the beveled rectangular top over two short and three long locking drawers with brass pulls, decorated to top and drawer faces with fine-line geometric marquetry, raised overall on turned bun feet, 35.5'' H x 39.25'' W x 22'' D, Provenance: Estate, Redlands, CA. Condition: Overall good condition, with general scratches, nicks, lifting to inlay, separation at joints and shrinkage cracks to veneers commensurate with age. An approximately 14'' x 18'' area of darkening, lifting and spots of loss to veneers on top; the largest loss 2.25'' x .5''. Locks have been removed; hardware has been replaced. Drawers with substantial shrinkage cracks to bottoms and new runners. Evidence of woodworm.
