Beschreibung:

A DIAMOND, ROCK CRYSTAL AND ONYX BRACELET, BY BOUCHERON, CIRCA 1970 Composed of fluted rock crystal links accented by brilliant-cut diamonds, alternating with circular onyx cabochons within textured gold frames, mounted in 18K gold and platinum, signed Boucheron Paris, with maker's mark for André Vassort, French assay marks, length 19cm When Alain Boucheron took over the family business in 1962 he looked to the materials the house had utilised at the turn of the century to create bold and unique jewellery that had made Boucheron an international name. The house had been known for their mixing of materials and carved diamonds (an unusual technique still rarely seen today), and Alain rejuvenated this concept for the latter half of the 20th century, incorporating engraved rock crystal (a personal favourite of his) and semi-precious stones to collections. By setting diamonds alongside onyx and rock crystal, Boucheron achieved a dynamic look that both harkened back to the jewellery of old yet was bold and contemporary in contrasts. Engraved rock crystal would feature heavily across Boucheron’s collections from the 1970s until the early 2000s.
