A FINE AND VERY RARE FAMILLE-ROSE -ENAMELED AND MOLDED PORCELAIN SNUFF BOTTLE
IMPERIAL, JINGDEZHEN KILNS, QIANLONG FOUR-CHARACTER SEAL MARK IN IRON RED AND OF THE PERIOD, 1740-1756
A FINE AND VERY RARE FAMILLE-ROSE -ENAMELED AND MOLDED PORCELAIN SNUFF BOTTLE IMPERIAL, JINGDEZHEN KILNS, QIANLONG FOUR-CHARACTER SEAL MARK IN IRON RED AND OF THE PERIOD, 1740-1756 Of flattened, rounded form with a tall, cylindrical neck, the bottle has raised circular panels on either side painted in famille rose enamels with scenes of boys in a garden setting. One scene depicts five boys playing musical instruments, and the other depicts four boys carrying auspicious objects including a ruyi scepter, a chime, and a vase with a rose. The panels are reserved on a greenish-turquoise ground molded with chrysanthemum scroll picked out in gilding. 2 in. high, coral stopper
