A FINE BLUE AND WHITE STEM BOWL QIANLONG SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-1795) The deep bowl, with rounded sides and flaring rim, is raised on a spreading stem, the exterior is painted in deep tones of cobalt blue with eight lanca characters beneath a band of classic lotus bloom roundels borne on scrolling stems around the rim, the band repeated around the tall spreading foot below flame lappets encircling the base of the bowl. 4¾ in. (12 cm.) high
