A French belle époque platinum and diamond pendant necklace, designed as three intertwined foliate hoops millegrain set throughout with old round brilliant and single cut diamonds, the largest a graduated laurel wreath suspending a pair of leaves above a large (certificated) pearcut diamond; French rhinoceros head mark for platinum; to a later fine belcher link back chain spectacle set at intervals with round brilliant cut diamonds, clasp stamped '585', length 51.5cm; the principal pear cut diamond with a certificate from GIA, no5161450869, stating its weight to be 2.18cts, colour F and clarity SI1 Estimate £12,000-18,000 The necklace is in very good condition, all the stones secure, the articulations free, the chain and clasp in good order; gross weight 9.12g. The largest of the round brilliant diamonds measures approximately 4.1 x 4.0 x 2.35mm; one of the next size down diamonds has a loupe-only visible chip; otherwise the diamonds in the main design are well-matched for colour and clarity to the stunning principal pear cut stone.
