The hinged rectangular lid opening to reveal pewter funnel and double measure, a balance, four glass jars with dished gilt brass lids, a replacement Delft polychrome decorated tile and a selection of accessories, the front with a hinged door with a row of six bottles over four drawers with handwritten paper labels, the upper two drawers containing various packeted and labelled powders, one of the drawers divided and with two sliding lids, one lower drawer fitted with a glass mortar and pestle, the other with four bell shaped glass jars, one with original vellum cover, the reverse fitted with a conforming door revealing six large bottles and stoppers, most with handwritten labels, including 'Tinct Rhubarb', 'Tincture of Peruvian Bark', 'Jamaica Ginger' and 'Antim Wine', single locking mechanism, brass side carrying handles, the lid lacking the carrying handle, printed paper trade label below the Royal Coat of Arms, 'John Moore, Chemist To The King, Great Rufsell Street, No. 15, Covent Garden', box 23.7cm wide, 27.5cm high, 20cm deep.
