A KHORASSAN BRONZE OPENWORK HORSE NORTH EAST IRAN, 13TH CENTURY The stylistically modelled horse formed slightly leaning back on its rear legs, with engraved decoration including a strapwork roundel at the horse's back and chest and bands of geometric strapwork or scrolling vine leading to the saddle, the bridle decorated with a series of small roundels, the mane picked out with wavy lines, an attachment loop at the rear, holes at the saddle, belly and rear, greenish patina 5¼in. (13.4cm.) high
