Lot consists of an Enfield Martini Henry MK IV rifle and a Izhevsk Model 1891 Mosin Nagant bolt action rifle. (A) Martini Henry MK IV rifle manufactured by Enfield in 1887. The right side of the receiver is marked "Crown over V.R./ ENFIELD/ 1887./ IV/ 1". Various British inspection and sold out of service proofs are visible on the receiver, barrel, and lever. The buttplate screws and operating lever cup are comprised of brass. The right side of the buttstock and the bottom of the trigger guard appear to have Nepalese characters inscribed on them, accompanied by several British stamps and proofs on the buttstock. Complete with cleaning rod. CONDITION: Metal components retain traces of their reapplied finish, showing wear and thinning all around. Bore is dark, but retains strong rifling throughout. Stock shows dings and indentations from handling and storage. (B) Imperial hex receiver 1891 Mosin Nagant manufactured by Izhevsk in 1897. Matching numbers include the receiver and bolt. Finnish "SA" property stamp on left hand side of barrel shank. Finnish features include the M91 style wire sling swivels, renumbered rear Konovalov sight (for meters), and two piece spliced stock. Complete with cleaning rod. CONDITION: Metal components retain fair amounts of their arsenal applied blue finish, with areas of wear and thinning showing through to brown patina all around. Sling swivels and buttplate are in the white, with the buttplate exhibiting an area of surface rust. Bore is dark, but retains strong rifling throughout.
