Beschreibung:

A collection of eighteen gorgeous photographs of the then-named Norma Jean Dougherty, taken by the man who first discovered her photographic appeal when she was just nineteen years old, David Conover. Originally shot in 1945, these particular photographs were printed in a limited edition 'Publishers Proof' series of only thirty-seven back in 1990, with this set being #12/37. The color prints (fourteen total) are produced on fiber-base photo process paper while the black and white prints (four total) are individually hand-processed; all are housed in a navy blue portfolio box with gold embossed lettering on the cover reading "Norma Jeane / Marilyn Monroe / The Discovery Photographs / Summer 1945." Though most of these images have been seen before, a few are quite rare, and do not get published that often. All are quite stunning as they show how completely photogenic Marilyn really was, even before she had her 'Hollywood movie star' platinum make-over just a few years later. Included are 'Certificates of Authenticity' for each photograph. 24 x 20in
